Does anyone know how to remove the original stock tip covers on the rear mufflers? When I bought my car I only had the 1 with the right hand side one missing. I want to make this look right again, and will probably buy some aftermarket circular tips and fit those instead.

Also does anyone know the size of the actual tips I would need to get? I will most likely have to get the (rubber) hammer ones instead of the screw / bolt type ones.

The originals are just a push fit, so a pull should remove it.

Ben I'm not after an aftermarket zorst I want to keep the original - given that it's a good quality system and I believe is stainless anyway.

The sub and cover are yet to go in the car. I am intending on getting them installed this week sometime, but will need to get some MDF and then cut to fit, and the AMP installation kit.

Thanks Peter. If it's that easy I'll yank them off and chuck on a set of aftermarket ones.

Yes, the standard exhuast is stainless steel. If it was mild steel, it wouldn't last the life of the car like it does. Its not POLISHED stainless, which is what the added tips are, perhaps thats where you are confused Shaun?

Nah I didnt presume because they were not polished that they were not stainless. It just seems easier to polish the tip to make it shiny, rather than add a stainless shiny tip, on a stainless muffler.

*shrugs*

Been shown to be wrong again.

The add-on tip is air cooled so it doesn't dis-colour..
