When I bought my 1992 SC400, it had a leaking P/S hose. The dealer wanted something like 356.00+ to replace it. I found a company here in Arlington, Texas that repairs the high pressure hoses that are used in commercial vehicles (Road graders, tractors and pans, etc) They repaired mine for $50.00. It is better than the one supplied by Lexus because it is commercial grade hose made for even higher pressures than my SC400 produces. So, I would suggest that if this a problem for you, look for a local commercial hose repair shop and let them do the work.

I experienced this first hand two weeks ago. My hose became damaged after the bracket came loose and the hose dragged on the ground and wore a hole in it. The repairer told me that it would cost $600 for a genuine toyota one. He had one made up for me by Pirtek for $200.

Thanks for that advise Neil, a zip tie sounds like a good idea just in case.
