Oh and Optimas are the most over rated battery i've ever seen. They crap out like there is no tomo. They are also made in the States so by the time they come over here they are half screwed.
I used an optima blue top for close to five years with a two amp & dual sub system which was cranked a lot of the time and did not have one issue with it. Same goes for countless mates of mine, I certainly wouldn't call them over rated.

Has anyone tried the bigger alternators that MVP offer? I think they offer 150amp and 175 amp alternators at about $550AUD and $780AUD respectively?
I was under the impression that adding a second battery in the boot will only make a problem like dancing lights even worse?
Because if the alternator is struggling to feed 1 battery, the current drawn on two batteries will make it worse?
I'm only running a single 800watt rms Audiopipe sub from an old school 1000watt rms Rockford Fosgate amp plus a R/F 4x100watt rms amp powering the speakers and I was getting dancing lights all the time.
I found the trouble I was having is that the battery was coping just fine storing and feeding out current, but the alternator just couldn't supply it with enough.
Fix? Upgraded the alternator wires from 2x10AWG to 2x4AWG and problem fixed
So yeh might not work with everyone but before you go overboard try the small things first. It's a fairly beefy for a stock alternator but the wires supplying the current arn't up to the task
