Morning all. This is probably the earliest I've been up in about a year, but for a good reason - today I finally get my new system put into the soarer:

* Alpine CDA-9856i (mp3/wma/cd, iPod ready, BBE sound)
* Alpine MRP-F250 V-power 4 channel amp
* Focal 6.5" front splits
* Focal rears

No sub just yet, funds running a bit low at the moment. Maybe down the track a mono block amp to power a JL audio 10" or 12" sub.

All up fully installed its costing me about $1200 which I thought was pretty good. Will get pics up as soon as I can.

I've got a 97 model soarer, was thinking of selling the factory stereo after getting the new one installed. I haven't had the car for long and is in excellent condition so would be the stereo. How much are these worth?

Cheers.

Got the system put in the other day, gotta say I'm pretty happy with the sound quality. I was initially recommended a set of soundstream speakers due to my budget, then I heard a set of alpine type r splits from JB HiFi and decided to go for them. Went back to my original supplier who completely shut down the idea of the alpine speakers and convinced me to go for the focal polyglass 6.5" splits. Glad I did cause they're f*kn awesome! Well worth their price. I've got no sub at the moment but the speakers definately make up for that .. incredible bass.

I will eventually get a decent sub to go along with the speakers. Even my rears are focal, and they sound just as good. Highly recommended speakers. I've kept the factory look, using all the original covers. Even the focal tweeters fitted nicely into the factory tweeter positions. Now all I gotta do is work out how to use the alpine deck! They're so confusing
