From what I understand the stock stereo in the Soarer is 2.5 DIN.
So what I have planned is:
1. to remove that 2.5 DIN stereo and put 3 x 52mm Gauges in a 1 DIN gauge holder down the bottom near the ash tray.
2. Then at the top of the gap (just below the A/C system) I plan to place a 1 DIN DVD player which I've already bought (just a motorized screen eonon one off ebay).
3. Now this is the tricky part. I understand I still have a 0.5 DIN gap between the gauges and the DVD. I really want to put an equalizer in there but I need to know will it wire up properly? For example will i be able to wire up each speaker individually or is there just an audio in slot?
Sorry for not being very clear but you're all smart people and I'm sure you all understand what I'm trying to say.

Most EQ's in the market run through RCA cables. But this was when head units couldnt keep up to the job. Today a headunit can EASILY bet ext EQ's. There is not a day i can tell customers ext eqs are better unless they want more voltage going to the amps. Sure its quicker but thats all. Remembering that we shouldnt be EQ`ing anything... Get a good headunit and amps.
As for the 2.5din gap... One can use a Subaru (yeah i know) Din and a half pocket to fill the gap. Very easy. The one we use at work has a front lid and end result looks really good... Im sure you could mount the gauges inside this pocket smartly. Even hide them when you dont want them.
Only bad thing is... Those pockets cost alot. My NZ Price is over $85. I'm happy to help anyone who needs one. ...Just sorry about the price

Keiran thanks for your feedback. Thats all well and good but unfortunately my DVD player doesn't really have a good built in equalizer (just bass and treble). I like the look of themn too but all I want to know is will I have any troube wiring them up (i have 2 front speakers, 2 rear, 2 subs, 2 tweeters all running off an amp).
Oh well maybe I'll just end up mounting my gauges in the $85 1.5 DIN pocket?
