I think they're selling on ebay for 60GB just under a grand, 30gb cheaper.

has anyone had success installing one of these units into their soarer?

judging from the unit and diagrams it shouldn't be hard. It'll just be like any other headunit install however you will need an amp as these have stereo line level outputs (not sure if the screen has an inbuilt amp but the PC doesn't thats for sure).

I can also see that they have rs232 output so you can probably run some ecu software on that to program some aftermarket ecu's. Or if you get an OBD to usb adapter run some diagnostics from that.
