Just a quick question regarding the wiring up of the speakers in the instance where a DSP + HU have been removed from the car and replaced by a stock HU.

I suspect that the HU would have the speaker wires and all other functions RCA'd into the back of the DSP which then runs out to the amps. My current setup has a DSP and HU with 2 amps in the boot obviously going to the speakers and the amp.

I suspect that if I remove the DSP & HU, I will need to wire up the speaker wires from the new HU, convert them to RCA plugs and then plug them into the existing harness that leads to the amp right? Obviously the sub one is going to already have the RCA leads, so that shouldn't be a problem (and the normal stuff after that should be ok i.e. power, constant and ground).

DSP gets signal FROM RCA leads, and then pushes them out normal wires.

When removing the Headunit and DSP (hey, you still want to seperate that DSP??) then you will see the 6 RCA inputs, and a punch of normal wires coming out.

This bunch of normal wires will be what your after.

If the installation was done properly the wires will be:

Yellow: Constant Power
Blue: Remote power on feature (might not be on DSP)
Black: Ground/Earth
Red: Acc Power

Then there will be paired wires in there as well, like 2 grey, 2 slightly yellow, 2 green (using colours as examples here) with rings or other ID markers on them, these are the speaker wires.

Will be hard to brake down which speakers are what, but what I used to do was use my cabler's F-set which throws a tone into the wires.

You can get anything that uses a speaker to make noise, and just join the 2 wires from that to these wires when D/C the DSP, and you will easily hear which speaker starts to make noise, then label/tag it as the location and move to next pair of wires.

If you want, PM me and I will fire you my mobile number and I can assist you over the phone if needed (dont forget the 3 hour time difference).

Ah thanks for that Brian. I did send you an email last night regarding seperating the units. Did you not receive the email? Also I have updated the For Sale section regarding these units.
