Hey all, looking to gently upgrade the sound in my soarer, but have been out of the scene for so long, I just dont know whats good any more. Im happy with 4 ohm speakers, but if 8 ohms have come down, cool!
Installation costs need not apply, Ill do the lot myself.
Looking for half decent SQ, some nice sharp bass and generally play a lot of house music. Earth shattering doof doof not required, the more boot space left available the better.
One sub and enclosure only No more than two amps would be good Use factory spaeker locations (dont mind MDF-ing spacers etc...
If anyone can reccommend even ONE component, Id be very grateful. Soo much cheap stuff with brands attached these days, its hard to know what works!

I doubt you will need 8 ohm speakers (even if you can get them). Most cheap car speakers are actually only 2 ohm, but 4 ohm speakers are nice car speakers.
I would suggest using Jaycar amps (4-channel for the "normal" speakers and a smaller one for the sub).
I've heard that Kicker makes a good 10" sub. A sub in the parcel shelf should be plenty if you don't want doof-doof.
As for the door speakers, etc. you should get a decent set and get tweeters, at least for the fronts (with cross-overs). AVI makes good speakers but they may be out of price range, although they DO make reasonably cheap ones as well. AVI is ONLY available in Australia via Metrosound (Artarmon) but the will ship.
Another brand that I have had good experience with is JBL, although that was 15 years ago.
