I have recently had the pleasure of receiving the worst service of all time at Strathfield i Kingsford NSW...Dont ever use them...ever.

Anyway - they have installed a kenwood single din system and installed a small pocket below it. There is still a gap left below the pocket - they have said they will custom make a piece to fit the gap but after 6-7weeks of dealing with these clowns, I am over it.

Are there any pieces i can buy or does anyone have any tips to getting either a better (bigger) pocket or how to fill the remaining gap?

Jarrad, they would have installed a single DIN pocket when you require a 1.5Din pocket to suit. Mazda MX5 pocket fits. Search for 1.5 Din or 1.5 POcket or something similar, topic as been covered many times.

hope this helps

FC02-55-235A is the Mazda part number you require.

Yep, they fitted a single Din when a 1.5 sized Din is required.

I used some door rubber on mine as a fill-in until I could be bothered, and some custom engineering made it actually look quite good, but MX 5, and Subaru Din pockers are what you need.

They are not as cheap as the Single Din pcoket, but will make the install look much more professional.

If you need help installing it, PM me and I will give you a hand.

Thanks for that guys,

unfortunately I just rang two Mazda dealerships in Sydney and neither could find a 1.5din pocket. They also said that the part number came up with nothing when they ran their searches.

I could just get a MX5 pocket off them if I could be sure it would fit?

Just get a subaru one. They cost a little bit but well worth it. One with a lid. They are for mid 90's subaru. I have stock of them now but i live in New Zealand....

It seems they can be ordered in from the UK...

Is anyone able to confirm this is the exact one?

Mazda/Fords are usually a cage mount system so most of them you cant screw your soarer brackets into them. MOST mazda pockets wont work. If you look for a subaru din and and half you'll find it will be 100% screw mount. Makes life a lot easier...

If you want one i can get one for $85 NZD plus postage and a receipt. And the guarantee that it will work.

Kieren,

are you able to post/send a pic of the pocket. With and without lid? Are they all black?
