Okay this has somewhat turned into a bit of a dilemma. My head unit in my 95 Soarer is broken, the CD player does not take the CDs in and even if it did I'm not sure the thing would work.

Naturally I went around asking for aftermarket CD players and I've been told that because the car has the factory sub, amp and speakers, that I would have to replace the whole lot. The other choice I got told is that I can have 4 speakers connected to the aftermarket unit without the factory sub and tweeters, but that is not an option for me because that's a waste.

I did a search but it didn't come up with anything specific to this.

Thanks for any help

Yeah. You have to re wire the whole thing.
Or atleast I would.

The stock toyota system uses a BUS system. Its not just like having RCAs out the back of the head unit. Wont work with other systems.

Maybe nows a good time to upgrade properly.

New head unit, with a new amplifier, speakers and sub. or get the old one fixed.

I know what i'd do.. new stuff comes with warranty too!

Replace the unit you have with an aftermarket one with speaker level outputs.
You will loose use of the volume control and bass sub speaker only.
With a little work then the sub may be used with the aftermarket head unit.
