Hey just wondering if its possible to set up i think its a 2.5mm input jack for my mp3 player (not an ipod) Got the non emv head unit. Getting sick of burning lots of cd's since it doesn't read mp3 format cd's :-(

If it is possible how hard is it to do?

Thanks.

It depends if the factory Head-unit has an Auxiliary input.

FM transmitter? They are pretty useless, but it's easy.

If I were you i'd get a new Head-unit with an "Aux In", that's what I did. Some have 2 RCA connectors on the back (need a cable to go from 3.5mm to RCA) and some have a 3.5mm jack on the front.

Good luck :-)

Well if it has a stacker, then you might be able to hijack the stacker audio lines and hook up your MP3 player to it.

Other than that mate, maybe have a look at the back of the unit? does it have the factory amp in the boot?

I haven't had much to do with the factory stereo because mine didn't come with one.

I just wired my Head-unit into the factory amp.

Hey, I'm new to Soarer central, only got mine a few weeks ago, but I've already put a dvd head unit in the glovebox.

If you have a touch screen, you could do what I did and tap into the wires under the back seat that go to the tv, then just run an RCA cable to wherever you want the mp3 player to sit(the cup holder might be a good spot for it). Then all you have to do is press the tv button on the touch screen to get the mp3 sound.

This tutorial explains which wires to tap into:

(Just ignore the stuff about video cables)

Very eager to do this if its possible as im sick of only having the radio and i'm too lazy to burn cd's i will get sick of after a week.
