I've got a cheap Eonon 2 din head unit to put in my non-EMV Soarer. I'm no audiophile and am not expecting great things from it (will be playing FM and MP3s mostly), but I do like the extra "doof" from the factory sub, and would like to keep that in my new setup.
The headunit has 2 sets of RCA preouts, and I've also bought one of the Jaycar 4 channel amps that are recommended. My thoughts, after reading many of the posts in this forum, are to run the rear speakers from the headunit, then run the front speakers and sub from the amp, bridging 2 of the channels for the amp.
Is this the best way to go about it? If so, I'm assuming I can't use both the rear speaker outs and the rear preout channels? So do I split the front 2 channels and run them to the sub? And can I split at the amp end of the RCA run or should I run 2 RCAs?
My only other thought was that the amp has RCA-thru connections. Could I run the front and rear speakers from the amp and connect the RCA throughput to the factory sub amp via a Jaycar DI box? If so, would this be preferable to the other setup?
Apologies for the elementary questions, but thanks in advance for your help.

Thanks for the quick reply, Brian.
I guess the rear speaker/subwoofer option is set somewhere in the head unit software options? The feature doesn't appear to be documented in the instructions, but then they seem next-to-useless anyway.
I'll have to see what I can find in the menus when I get it powered up. I'm currently still trying to wrestle it into the console...

After playing with the software settings I can't find one, but have experimented with splitting RCA1 and using RCA2 for the sub. I think RCA2 gives the best result.

I see what this means now. The amp instructions warn against using 2 ohm speakers in bridged mode, so I'm just running the sub off one channel at the moment.
It sounds OK as it is, but I wouldn't object to it sounding a bit more bassy. Would I get a noticeably better result by bridging those channels?
If so is there any way I could do so with the factory sub, or would a 4 ohm like this make a satisfactory replacement (I'm not after anything that'll make my innards vibrate)?
