Hi guys. Well with my Pov Pack 3.0GT I got the crappy 4 6 speaker system which had a rubbish 'sanyo' 4x35w after market headunit. Sounded very poor, lacked depth, bass and clarity - Just everything! Rear speakers were shagged anyway which didnt help...
So I removed all the old 6 speakers and the head deck. All in the bin where it should be.
This is what Ive done so far...
Headunit - Sony CDX F5500 4x50w at 4-8 ohms MP3 and all that, sub out RCA ports. Seems like a good unit.
Front Speakers - JL Audio .75" Silk Tweeters, JL VR series Crossovers and factory 4" Pioneer front speakers which I bought a while ago from a soarer in perfect condition. These are mounted in the sound boxes and do sound quite nice IMO, good bass for their size
Amp - Ill be using a bridged amp of some sort for the Sub in the shelf.. What amp specs would I be looking at to power the first sub choice?
Amp for the speakers - I think the fronts don't really need an amp and the rears seem to go nicely as well. Tried a 150w amp split between the two JL rears and it was too loud even on low settings... Much better with out it... Amp is a Sony sony xm-150 which I think is 75wrms per channel.....
So what do you guys think of this setup - I really like the sound better than the celsior and no comparison to how it was stock in this car! Even without the sub it still sounds very nice and clear...

ALways run an Amp for front speakers and the sub.. The rears can always be left running off the deck for cabin fillin sound if people are travelling in the back..
I mean, You can of course run all off an amp, but a decent 4 channell Amp can run 2 fronts and 1 Sub.. I will be installing the sub + amp from my falcon ( hail damaged written off) YAY
