Hey guys,

Bit miffed about this. Recently installed a new Head Unit into the car, Pioneer DEH-P7850BT CD Tuner, and I have the fronts working fine, the Head Unit is working a charm, but for some reason, I can't get the rear speakers to work.

Now, I am a little unsure as to what plug the rear speakers run from with the stock unit, have played with both, the blue plug doesn't seem to do jack, and the white one, when I connect it to the adapter, then into the wires from the head unit, well, the fronts go dead and there is no sound whatsoever.

I haven't installed amps or anything else yet, as I am going bit by bit and just working on it slowly, not even sure if I will get a sub yet.. But still, the rears are annoyingly being a pain.

Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

Oh, incase anyone was wondering, the speakers (rear) were working fine with the stock unit.

The rear speakers are powered by an external amp. Run a seperate wire from the deck to those speakers, or cut off the input wires at the stock amp, and plug that directly into the speaker (you may need to add a bit extra wire to it as it may be too short). The stock amp sits on the right hand side, in the boot, under the carpet, you can't miss it, big silver metal box.

Running new wires all the way from the deck might be a better idea though, as the stock wires are old by now, and may be crappy quality.

Ah! Awesome, will definately investigate this tonight and see what the go is. Didn't even register in my mind that the rears might be powered by a stock amp.

Thanks for the info mate!

Ok, had a look in the boot at lunch, took out the carpet and the linings, and for the life of me I can't see it. May sound like a silly question, but didn't the 8's only come with the amps? I thought the 6's came with the basic setup of head unit, fronts and rears, although, when it comes to car electrics, I completely have no idea

Strange. I had a pov pack TT and it had an amp. Although there may have been the most basic stereo without one altogether, with the amp all within the deck. Who knows.

Best bet still is to run a fresh new wire anyway.

I have a V8 and it didn't come with an amp.

Best thing to do is to run new wires to the speakers anyway. The Soarer standard wires are way too thin.
