Hi guys, I am a new owner of a 81 V8 limited soarer.
When I bought it the touch screen worked fine. After a bit of fooling around with it only the bottom half of the screen worked and now I can only alter the fan speed. (The whole screen shows up well but will not recognise my touch). Should I try cleaning it or just send it to Damien? Any help much appreciated

take the emv out. start to rip it apart. Take the front cover off the screen. Clean around the inside of the front screen panel. Dirt gets stuck on the inside bit and does not allow light beams to travell past to detect the "touch".
Re-assemble and put back in car.

Done!

Ok fixed one problem to find another. I took the emv apart and cleaned the screen and front cover (you guys were right, was heaps of dust and grime in there) but now the air con screen shows up blank (the other screens are fine) and also the bottom line of my dash has dissapeared (the one that shows odometer and scroll options etc. A bit annoyed because it only has 37000k's on it). Does anyone know of any auto electricians who know soarers in Sydney?

This is due to a fuse in the drivers side kick panel, 15A from memory.

I think so. There were two wires behind the cig that looked like they had been connected by a rubber tube so I put them back together. Bad move! So does that mean I only have to replace the fuse and it should be all good (sorry I am not too god with electrics)
