Cheap, easy, no need for an MP3 player. SD cards and USB flash drives are going for a pittance now.. I think I'm going to get one of these. Might even be able to shut the lid over the lighter socket and ashtray if it's small enough.

My dad had one of these, dunno if he still has it. You wouldnt be able to close the ashtray lid, its pretty bulky sound was a bit meh too, but that could have just been the van's audio

If you can't fit it in the ashtray, go to jaycar and buy a cigarette lighter adaptor (a female socket with bare wires). Tap into a suitable power source (perhaps from the power seats or glovebox) and then the female socket can be placed almost anywhere. Add an inline fuse for peace of mind and voila!
As far as quality is concerned, FM is never as good as CD - but for $50 and a huge amount of convenience - sounds like a bargain...
