Hi guys,

Well a few nights ago my Alpine deck decided to eat my CD. This deck was connected to the factory amps, therefore the wiring that came with the Alpine plus a set of RCA cables were soldered to the factory wiring, which left the factory plugs in place.

So I removed the Alpine unit in favour of the factory deck, and with that I snipped the wires going straight to the Alpine deck plus the RCA cables, leaving the factory wiring... these are now taped up in order not to come into contact with each other just in case they short out.

Problem? The bloody thing won't turn on! No power is getting to it. All plugs are connected (except for a random orange connector that I cannot find anything to connect it up to). There were two wires (iirc) that were disconnected completely...
  • A white wire that goes to a blue connector, I don't think it's for the amps though since the RCA's were connected somewhere else).
  • A ground wire, which was connected to the Alpine wiring harness, so I connected the loose wire to the ground wire
.

So, do you guys see any resolution to this or am I up s.h.i.t creek?

TIA

Jose

Just noticed you mentioned orange wire.... That's usually a dimmer wire... Connects to green/silver i think, or green white... (dash illumination wire, i did put a post up about that wire in electronics a while ago)
