Just a quick few question that sprung to mind this evening, for the people which have done in car PC's did you find there are large range of sound cards available with varying qualities?
Are there benefits with running a stereo setup through pc sound cards, then out to quality amps/speakers rather than using regular off the self CD player HU, that go to amps/speakers?
Just Ive been thinking it could be more cost effective to go for an in car pc setup, even though it will be more expensive without a doubt, the gains in features and extra abilities would be huge, EG? 5.1 Surround sound for videos?
So basically to clarify what I'm asking... Would it be realistic for me to expect equal or better sound quality from a well planned out In car PC using quality components, such as the Sound card, Mother board, wiring, with top range amps / speakers?

hi, mike yes the quality is great, and the surround can some times be a little weird, you just dont expect it in a car. yeah the quality, expeccialy at loud levels is great.. i dont regret the car pc one bit.. i just about to hook mine to blue tooth, and connect my phone, also one added advantage is, wireless internet, i pull up in my drive and can just grab some new songs of my computer at home... it is pretty good. cheers.
