I have (what I think is) a factory fitted stereo with subwoofer and stacker.

The woofer has never worked. I investigated things and have found that the plug that should connect to RU+/RU-/Mute on the headunit is not connected.(see photos) I am unable to find somewhere to plug it in. I am beginning to think that some part of my system has been replaced or added since leaving the factory.

I was able to get sound from the woofer by tapping into the feed for the front speakers and running this to the RU+ wire to the woofer amp. This works OK but the rear speakers sound quite feeble on there own.

I have substituted both the amplifier and woofer amp with no change in sound.

Anyone have any ideas

what may hav have happened is someone prior to owning your car may have removed the original stereo, put in their own, and when selling it, replaced it with an oem stereo, but may have thrown out the original head unit. just an idea

That's what I'm thinking. Either that or someone has upgraded to stacker and compatible headunit but it did not have the plug for the subwoofer.
Something is not adding up.

I was hoping someone would recognise the headunit as a particular variant and confirm if there is a way to hook it up better than what I've come up with. I seem to have bits of two different wiring looms according to the soarer wiring diagrams. (both non EMV with amp, and in built amp looms)

I have two extra wires in the plug at the rear of the head (white/green stripe, and green) that do not seem to be on the wiring diagram, but they don't have any power when the stereo is on and playing.
