Hey guys, I have started getting massive crackling sounds from either the sub or the rear speakers. They are still the stock ones in there. Is this a sign they are gone?

Im not 100% but i generally take it when speakers start cracking its a bad sign. Make sure its not simply the music or quality of music you listening too, chuck an original cd in your car just too make sure. If its still cracking and stuff its probably means they are almost gone, and need replacing. Cracking will get louder and louder, and eventually banging noises will happen Oh also i think its your speakers, doubt its your sub. Take care.

Yeh mate i think it's the speakers as well. I've been playing CD's that I have always been playing. so I think the speakers are in need of replacement. Thanks Mark.

I had the same problem. The 'cracking' sound was coming from the speakers. I tried the swapping the speakers out of my wrecked 31 and no change. I ended up swapping the DSP unit (LH back passengers side). This solved the cracking noise, but now I have the wooing noise through the speakers on acceleration. (earthing at the DSP maybe?)
