Hey guys, my stacker does not work I didnt have a cartridge for it, so i bought 2 but i put it in there, nothing happens! the orange eject light is on constantly and when i press cd, it comes up with a japanese error message on the screen.
If there are any ideas on how to fix this, or what would be a recommended replacement changer, or if anyone has one they would like to sell, would be a great help
thanx

Sam, does the cartridge actually load into the stacker? There's a small switch that is depressed when the cover is closed but sometimes the pin that presses it has broken off and the cartridge just sits at the top and doesn't sink down to load up.
Sam, it's pretty easy. When you open the cover for the unit, you'll see there's a small round button on the right, nearest you if you're leaning into the boot. Check that it is this by holding it in with your finger and then press the Load button and put a little bit of downward pressure on the CD cartridge, if it loads up then that's your issue. To fix, simply get some folded up paper small enough to keep the switch depressed and hold it in place with some electrical tape or similar.

Sorry to bring up an oldy, but I am having trouble with my EMV stacker. It would play the burnt ones I put in, but jumps all the time, even just sitting in the car, not moving. So, I thought I would try new original discs, and now the cartridge wont come out, wont play, just makes a noise as if it is still trying to load the discs. Had to unplug the wiring to get it to stop. How do I get the cartridge out???

Ian, I thought this should be plastered all over the forums.
Two options. 1. Try a reset: open the lid, hold in the little lid open button, then using a paper clip or something push in on the reset and hold it for a bit. Replace the cartridge, wait and try an eject as normal. 2. Remove the stacker, then remove the little cover on the bottom of the stacker that faces the drivers side of the car, stick your finger in and spin the gears to lower the tray below the disk rollers. Get the disk out, then wide it back up. (Apply step 1 to just to make sure the tray is homed).
This is what I have done in the past, do 1, if that fails then 2.

Fixed the problem. a disc was a bit sticky in the cartridge, so levered it back with a screw driver, and it ejected OK. Put discs into another cartridge, and presto, it plays the original CDs perfect. No jumping at all
