I just installed my Pioneer DEH-P4050 head unit into my car and since I collected my car, there has been hissing/static sounds in my speakers.

There is also another sound which follows how I accelerate the car, I'm not sure what this is called but me and my friends used to call it the airplane sound

Should I get my wiring checked by another installer or is there an easy way to fix the problem by myself?

Thanks guys!

Take it back to where you got it done.

Its engine noise and its to do with the way your wiring was installed - mine does the same thing because I'm a moron and installed the RCA's and the power lead down the same side of the car!

The cracking noise - does your car have an amp(s) - mono block? or running speakers as well?

alot of people say its from having the power and RCA wires too close together but im not sure hey.

I had a crappy amp and it made that noise as the revs went up then i changed to a better brand amp and the problem dissapeared.

Its all about insulation of the wires and amps i guess.

But yeh the boys are right... take it back and tell em to fix it.

Nope I've got no amps or any aftermarket speakers installed except the player itself. Running on the stock speakers and the stock sub.

But since the problem might be the wires being too close to each other or the insulation, I can try re-routing the wires myself first to see if it fixes the problem.

Take it back and let them do it correctly.

Alternator noise can be eliminated buy using a filter in line with Battery + (not ACC)

Are you sure that you don't have both the stock sub amp and stock 4 speaker amp connected?

If so then this 4 speaker stock amp connection is the problem I'd say. They have left the –v signal to float i.e. not tied them to ground?
