I thought I'd share with the install I did over the weekend.
I was sick and tired of the FM expanders not doing their job so I decided to go out and get a new HU and amp but keep the current speakers and I've got to say that I'm am really happy with the outcome in both looks and sound. (that might sound bias)
As you can see I moved my GPS unit in place of where the ashtray was.
It was a bit of work as I had to cut back the gear suround but it came up well , the only thing I had to do was relocate the tems & height switch because the suround is now shorter.
Some of you might remember that I did this to my previous car as I like to make them look as factory as possible.

The GPS is a VDO MS5100 and I've had it for 5 years , as for the surround its made by Holden for the VY series as these units were also a factory option in their cars
All I had to do was re-shape it a little to suite the Soarer.
