I have a spare tyre and also tyre weld as i would be too lazy to change a tyre in the middle of nowhere. Question for you guys is how do you guys remove your spare? As in i want to get rid of it as i have tyre weld and shed a bit of weight but then the floor plank isnt sitting on anything and will jump around. Also if you put something heavy in the middle it might fall through or break the plank? So how do i get rid of the spare yet have rigidity for shopping and stuff?

Ben I was thinking is it wise to put the full weight of the car on the diff? ? as its on rubber mounts and never has to take the weight on it?. But then its only for a short time.

The "plank" is actually fairly sturdy. I put my shopping in there all the time with no spare tyre underneath (took it out to make room for amps).

Yeahi can feel its pretty thick but say you put something weighing 29kg in the middle of the plank over the wheel well and it would bend. Worst part is when i can the wheel out, no weight on the plank but in the boot it would jump around and make a clunking noise which gets annoying fast.
