I purchased this
http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=CS2340&CATID=15&keywords=&SPECIAL=&form=CAT&ProdCodeO nly=&Keyword1=&Keyword2=&pageNumber=&priceMin=&priceMax=&SUBCATID=831p:// subwoofer from Jaycar to replace the damaged one in my Celsior.
As I expected, the factory amp is not powerful enough to drive it sufficiently.
What do you guys recommend I do to drive this subwoofer?
Do you recommend an amp from Jaycar that would be appropriate Mark/anyone?
How should I wire the amp to avoid the "delay" that I have read about?
Thanks

the Jaycar 2 x 80 Watt amp wired in bridge mode (200 watts) will be plenty. It has the low pass filters required to use it as a sub amp and can be wired in place of the factory amp (a new larger power wire should be run from the battery through a fuse and this wire should also be connected to the factory battery wire to get better performance from the factory 4 chann amp). Be a bit carefull as this setup will be able to ovepower the sub easily if you push it too hard....common sense should be enough.
The factory sub amp has two inputs (0 phase and 180deg phase)just use the 0 phase input to the new amp (listening tests should be able to pick the right one especially if you can get hold of a Sheffield test CD or similar)

The delay problem is a matter of physical speaker placement (ie distance from your ears when compared to the source of higher frequencies). If you have it in the rear shelf where the factory one was then there should be no problems. Subs placed in the boot can exhibit marked delay.
