just wanting some feedback from anyone using the Jaycar 10" dvc carbon fibre sub, hows it coping and sounding and how is it wired up and what wattage are you running

i just brought one today Jaycar still has some old stock, i got it for $89 and i also got an aa-0425 4x100wrms digital amp from them too, discontinued stock for $150, it was $399!

i just hope thats its going to do me, otherwise i'll have to look into getting a sub thats designed to be ib/free air use

i have 1 of the 4x100 amps. awesome bang for buck, great power, really good sound. only downside, i am running 2 8" DVC Polk Audio DB subs in tubes, they sound great, but the amp overheats like you would not believe. the amp you have will not be suitable for running the sub, because the only configurations you can run it in are 2ohm or 8 ohm. if you run the sub in 2 ohm mode and bridge the amp, you will kill it, and 8 ohm will not give enough power. however for the price you paid, can't complain. just run your front and rear speakers off the jaycar amp and get a monoblock amp for the sub.

as for the subs, you will not be disapointed. they are probably the best sounding sub for the price you pay.

You can run one voice coil off each of the rear channels @ 4 ohm each @ 100wrms x 2.

but I plan to turn the gains down quite a lot.

And same with the front channels, I really only need 50w for what I want, so I'll have the gain down a fair bit there too.

Is yours the digital 4ch or the normal 4ch? The normal one was more powerful, but it says in the manual do not run a 2 ohm load in bridged mode.

Those amps and subs are nuts. We ran two of those subs off that amp(using all channels obviously) and a friend of mine went deaf for about 7hrs afterwards. Do turn the gain down and follow the instructions, you got a great deal.
When the owner turn them down they sounded really nice. Have a good box with good sound deadening and your away laughing.
