Shane if you are close to the transmitter yes, also on a freeway with no hills or buildings, but it breaks up the rest of the time if moving. Perfect while standing all the time.

Sorry Dave i didn't ask the question properly. What i meant to ask was: Because the receiver is connected through the TV (i assume that is where the AV plug goes to), will the screen work in TV mode while driving? This may be a stupid question, but i am new to playing with this stuff.

No Shane, have to do the h/brake,speed wire overide behind the EMV lots of info on SEARCH not a hard job , but if your Soarer is pre 96 best to break into the tv tuner output side under rear seat as the AV will be mono up to 96 .does that help??

Having a crack at this myself now, with the tutorial Daniel posted previously. I've patched into the tuner loom and hooked up power, earth, and the video +ve and -ve.....Question is, can the grounds for the audio (left and right) be grounded to the chassis?

jay, it is possible , but all antenna's give a poor reception. Compare your house TV antenna to the car antenna. Height above ground to provide a clear line to the transmitter , and the size of the antenna. Larger antenna means larger gain

Having tried the window antennas ,that do work if you are close to transmitter (10k),in the end i went to a roof ariel this was much better. Later i fitted a DAB+ digital radio tuner and a much shorter ariel was needed (about the size of a ball point pen), it was then that i realized that the digital radio and the digital TV were on the same frequency (175 MHz-240MHz ) ,so i have split the feed to feed both tuners.Result perfect picture at any speed and max DAB+signal.

you do realise there is a power wire for an antenna amp that you have to wire in when installing an aftermarket head unit to get proper reception. I get awesome reception out of mine
