just wondering if these facts are correct

went to get some quotes n stuff and for installation the guy said that soarers are wired up differently to other cars and that if i was to put other speakers in he would have to rewire all of the speakers again and charge me extra...

is this true has any one had any one say that to them before regarding the layout of the factory wires ????

Hi Jacob;

his is both right and wrong depending on the audio setup you have, there are i think 4 different configurations, and 3 of the 4 do require re-wiring. the main question is, do you have the factory 8" sub. if you don't you will not need the re-wiring done. if you do, you will need to get it re-wired. this is due to the soarers using a factory amplification which for the biggest part isn't too compatible with a vast amount of systems. if you want to go for a full system, front, rear, sub setup, the easiest way will be get 2 amps, 1 4 chanel, and 1 monoblock (for the sub) and re-wire all the new speakers with decent 12 gauge cable. you will be much happier in the end anyways. :-) hope this helps

I've had the factory speakers/amps with an Alpine head unit which sounded pretty good (besides a good amount of electrical hissing). I've now replaced everything except for the original woofer and it sounds full sick. lol

In all honesty I suggest to rip out the original stuff... once you start mucking around with it will come more problems so best to pull it all out and do a full system from ground up.

I just put a new head unit in and I get engine noise through the speakers, so annoying.

He's probably refering to the fact that you can't get a ISO or manufacturer plug converter for the Soarer head unit connectors, so you always have to do some soldering. As Andrew says, if you have the sub and you want it to go, there is a bit more work involved.

you can purchase a direct plug in for the factory wiring from autobarn. its an Aerpro harness and is under $30 bucks. The advantage is you don't need to cut any wires, just match up and solder the correct colours together. however as far as i know it is only for the "pov pac" no sub audio system
