So story goes that my car is pretty much stripped out at present, well actually for the last few months. Anyway i dont remember everything rattling so much especially the bootlid. Now i dont know ifi its just because there is no trim in the car and the boot so i was thinking whilst everything is pretty much out ill dynmat the whole interior. Seems the sub is shaking the rear plate and the boot lid. I was just wondering if anyones done it and mainly what did you do about the fuel tank? I was thinking of making a MDF cover sheet for the fuel tank but dont really want to add weight to the car, not that much anyway. Did you guys just leave the fuel tank as it was? Id be interested to see/hear what people have done to their cars with dynamat.
Cheers

Dave, I have dynamat'ed (dynamat and dynaliner in some places) all the major areas of my car (except the roof) and it made a major difference to the sound quality of my stereo. It also eliminated all my annoying rattles and reduced the amount of exhaust noise and heat entering the car through the floor. Doing your actual number plates is a must if your running a sub. Your base will also be a lot tighter and more defined if you do the boot lid and boot floor.
I have done a fair few cars now so if you have any questions just shoot.

Yeah Michael ive used its before and know its the bomb. From memory i had stuff all rattle when all the trim was in place but i know bass was leaking out so if i do it SPL will increase and so will quality. However normally if i do a boot i do all 4 sides and the boot lid but with our cars there is no solid structure to put dynamat infront of the fuel tank. Did you just stick it on the trim piece that sits infront of the fuel tank?
Ps. your link just shows a baby in a tiger costume hahah

I didn't do anything with the fuel tank. I found that after I finished with the boot floor/sides and lid nothing else was required and I was very happy with the sound.

Yeah im just worried as it should be an enclosed area that you dynamat that the front area of the fuel tank will cause leakage of SPL. But i just realised i might stick it on the back of the trim overing the fuel tank. That should work better than nothing at all. Did you just do the boot or the doors arwell? Any idea how much i might need? Im thinking 36sqf should do the job.

Did you see my pictures? I did the inner and outer door skin, the boot, the floor and behind the back seat and in the foot wells. From memory I think I used two bulk packs and a couple of extra sheets as well as dynaliner and dynaxorb (behind the drivers and in the sub box).

Yeah im just about to get to the pics, my net has been the last few days as it keeps dropping out every 2 mins arghhh! haha will ahve a good look at them once they load. Thank Michael
Not even close im afraid. As mentioned in my previous post I used about 2-2.5 bulk packs along with assorted other dynamat products. The doors are huge and take a lot to cover, let alone the floor and boot.

Hey Michael only thing i dont understand is the deliner that you used. I was planning on doing the whole car in just extreme and use those defussers. Why did you use the deliner?
