what size is the exsisting sub on the rear parcel shelf of 1995 sc300 non emv i think its 10 inch is this correct???

if i put a later model sub in the existing spot will it create better bass or will it not, sorry if this sounds stupid....

yes i believe it is 10 inch, and if you plan on upgrading it you need to get a hold of a 'free air' sub

pioneer make them, dont know if kenwood still do,

What is the difference between a 'free air' sub and any other sub? What other types of subs are there?

free air subs dont need a box to operate. since the soarer has one mounted on the parcel shelf this is what you will need.

they are not too expensive. i saw a good one on ebay for 100 bucks just recently.

I find the factory sub connected to my Sony 350W amp is pretty good for me, but I am old and don't like too much bass.
