Hi guys, I've decided to put in a dvd player. Just wondering if i were to put in a single din fold out dvd player will it fit flush? Or will I require to remove the ashtray lid? I dont want to lose the lid if possible.
1st one has to lose the ashtray lid 2nd one seems to fit flush 3rd cos i love my white bitch so much!
Your thoughts will be greatly appreciated Thanks a million, gotta love this site yeah!

Oh yeah I used your one as an example, it looks so nice and original. I'm dying to put in a new deck very soon.
What speakers are you running? Cos I don't want to upset the original 4" speakers up front. Perhaps just replace the woofer with better ones? And of course change the rears with something better and a 12" sub in the boot.

i have 6.5" splits up front mounted on them adaptors from ebay from the USA and i have coaxes in the back and 2 12's
but honestly i should have kept what was in there, the factory speak housing in the front are way better than a bit of timber in the door... + i had 4" splits in there before...
i wish i kept the speaker boxes and the 4" splits...
sure 6.5" is bigger etc... but the factory setup with better drivers is better... for example, i have a similar sized mini bookshelf system here with 4" and 1" tweeter and it off 30wrms is much better than what i have now in the car off 100wrms..
fronts are amped as are subs rears are runing off the hu... all alpine type s, cheap and average but does the job really nice, amp is a discontinued 4x100wrms Jaycar digital, i had it all installed at garys, im reasonable happy with it, except for the povo rca's they uses one's stuffed so i gotta replace it... talk about pita, gotta gut half the car damn it lol

"talk about pita, gotta gut half the car damn it lol" Sorry I didnt get that?
Anyways, I got myself a 5 Channel V12 amp so that would run everything. So perhaps I'll keep the 4" splits up front and change the woofer? And change the rears?

Yeah i have that already, but the sound quality is crap! Like really crap! And EMV's are prone to fail. SO a new fold out 7" screen would be sufficient. I wanna run the stock speakers to a 5 Channel amp.
When I get the system running, i will be selling the stacker and my current dvd player in the glove box as i wont need it anymore.

i was thinking about that, but the cost of the emv repair and conversion cost MORE than my system (not all of it)
then theres the inconvienience of getting it done... the radio shop was 350m from my house, dont same day... the emv conversion would have taken weeks... took me 2 weeks just to get an answer on price...
im happy with what i have, i was going to go fold out screen, only reason for that was for gps nav, but my gps sticks nicely to the emv screen and gets good signal there

Ahh yes this, I saw this but I prefer the ipod connectivity and DVD player that can play DIVX.
A new head unit would cover the radio issues and I can mp3. One question if i may? Where are the speakers from the front and rear connected? I know its to an amplifier but where? Diagram if you will? Cheers fellas!

anyone here know what wires are for what speakers at the amp? also the 4x100W jaycar digital amp is not discontinued. they re-released it in a smaller housing
i decided to ditch my factory amp and stacker in favour of the jaycar 5 channel digital amp. fits in the same spot absolutely perfectly!! but your 5 channel v12 will be more than enough for the job at hand.
that little sony converter box i am no longer using. i couldnt quite suss it out, it did however power on the amp itself. so if you want to have a play with it i could donate it to you

Walter, yes the discontinued one. I brought it brandnew from jaycar for only about $120 the aa0425 from memory reg price is $449 I also picked up the also discontinued cf dvc sub in 10inch and sold it for what I paid for it on eBay when I decided to go boxed 12"
pays to ask what they have out the back. I didn't but the dude said when I was buying the sub want an amp, I said when I get paid then he said hold on..... Pretty happy, also it's one of the black ones not the silver series either. Any way it does the trick

Do you guys know if I have the fold out under the EMV, will it get in the way with the gear leaver? Wonder which gear would need to be before the screen can fold out? Hmm

definitely hit the leve. dont know from experience but from looking at it. there might be some out there that flips out and starts to tilt up while the screen is coming out.
gotta love jaycar. they help out at every opportunity even service my turntables

Jaycar that good? I've seen the shops around but never really stepped foot in there. I've seen that they sell their own brand audio. I tend to stick to Alpines. Would probably put in replacement rear speakers from Jaycar? What do they have and is their stuff up to scratch from the named brands?

jaycar is the biz. helpful nerds, great gear and reasonably priced. their amps have won them 1st 2nd and 3rd place in sound comps last year. their component speakers are top quality units. i use jaycar cables for all my dj gear. and mics and all sorts of other things.
the subs are pretty beefy but they do have cheaper slimline ones.. even the cheap stuff is top notch.
