Hey all, have just installed an Alpine double-din screen, and i only then noticed the stock dash is 2.5DIN correct?

Any ideas on how to fill in the .5DIN spot left below? I have heard some plastic suits fine, but I am after a more permanent replacement

you can buy .5 din pockets. go to the wreckers and search! lol. otherwise a piece of plastic with turbo timer and such things mounted flush will look just right :-)

this is what i've done with mine, i've made a surrounding out of rubber sandwiched between 2 .5mm pieces of aluminium. i've got an A/V input on the front and my turbo timer mounted beside it. i can make more if you want one.

Wish it was that easy Walter, I am in Hobart mate and no chance in hell of finding more than one decent import wrecker, or any wrecker for that matter... Thanks for the heads up anyway

Looks exactly what I am after, however importscene make a woodgrain kit for the late model CD player soarer which had a blank .5 DIN unit, so I think I will fit a .5 DIN storage compartment and simply cover it with the trim when I get a full woodgrain dash.

I will get in touch when, and if i decide to have one made. The only place I can find a pocket is on ebay, from the UK, about $25 delivered which is decent

Andrew,

That looks awesome. Can you post up the dimensions of the 0.5 DIN thing you made please?
