Hi guys, I need some help tuning my amp and HU to make it sound good. I noticed when I was trying to self tune it the sub sounds nice and loud with the boot opened. But as soonas you close it the sound deadening does a good job of not being able to hear or feel the bass.

Can someone please help me be able to make the sub thump like it should?

I'm currently running:
5 channel V12 amp
6" Fusion Reactors in the rear
Stock front but replacing with 4" Fusion Reactors woofers
Kenwood DVD touch screen.

Please help out a naive me :-)

So what sort of sub are you running ?

I also found it difficult to get decent bass into the cabin at 1st. Then i did a custom box with a kicker CVR 15" SUB being run on a Pioneer MONO block amp at a 2ohm load (for better sound and more power)

I also pulled the rear parcel shelf off and removed the metal blanking bits where the stock sub would normally go and some other blanking bits to allow better bass to flow into the cabin.
It worked well.
*if you dont know what im talking about, remove your rear seat and then parcel tray and it will all make sence.

Im assuming you a running a sub in a box with it facing rearwards also yeh ?

I was actually going to remove the rear sub and metal bracket thing too. My sub is a ported Kicker sub but I don't know what model it is.

I just noticed that my 5th channel was not set onto 5th but rather 1+2/3+4 setting thus giving out poor performance of the sub. The system sounds good now but I will still remove the rear sub to get better bass into the cabin as you did James :-)

i removed the factory sub

i have 2 x12's in slot ported boxes (i prefer sealed, but hey i got them sooooo cheap)

anyway running of a theoretical 100wrms each but probably more like 70wrms

i get deep bass in the cabin, enough to give you a good massage depending on how you like your sound settings

im tossing up removing the 6" coaxes in the rear shelf, you dont need rear fill, most good systems are faded mostly to the front

my last car just had 6.5" splits in the front running of a 4x50 amp and 4x12's sealed running of a 1kw mono @ 1ohm believe it or not it sounded fanastic, it wasnt top gear but punched well above its weight (it wasnt mega loud, but it played very very low... just how i wanted it) i really miss the bottom end from the sealed sub, the slot port cant match it, and i was running really cheap subs in the old car

come over my subs come out in 2 seconds we can test a few things out....

i dont claim to be an expert, but i can get it the way i like with minimal gear

this was in my magna, same the soarer sucks at boot space, i brought these because i was wanting cheap subs to blow up while i saved up for good gear, they cost me $200 all up for all that you see there brand new! sure quality is better than quantity, but $200 new.... i thrashed the crap out of them.... my rear view mirror fell off a couple of times and they kinda broke the 6x9's that used to be in the shelf... but you could tune them to play so low, it was great.... playing some test tones off my laptop i nearly my pants lol brrrrrr brown noise ok maybe not, but dizziness was fun

I got your number now so I can meet ya again some time when I get the chance :-) Also forgot to ask, where are you getting your kit repaired? I need mine fixed, fitted and painted :-)

i just texted you the name of the place, i dont know the number though

im sure ill be home one day, we can compare sound systems

im pretty happy with mine, but i do have engine noise :-( Garys say its because of the Jaycar amp (my model won some awards and isnt the cheapest one so i doubt that) i believe its their cut corners approach to the install
