its not hard lol, get a piece of MDF board, remove factory speaker box, cut to same size, drill holes to match speaker box, then cut out the area for the speaker, its pretty straight forward. If u can get the door trims off its easy HAHA

man i dont think it's really worth the hassle a good 4" in the factory boxes will sound better than an average 6.5" in the doors i mean amped up and with a sub/s most ppl have the fronts high passed anyway, i have a set of 4" bookshelf speakers and a 35wrms x2 mini system and it all over the 100wrms 6.5's in the car (but you cant compare home and car audio) but it still does i made this mistake and i'd go back to the stock boxes if i could factory is a perfectly made chamber with nice little port, kinda like a little bookshelf speaker, i believe unless your chasing big i mean BIG sound and bass i'd stay that way... i was given this advice when i was looking into my system and what to do, i ignored it and put in 6.5" splits and now i really wish i'd have gone the 4's actually offer open to ppl in vic, swap ya similar gear for similar

You can buy 6.5" MDF rings, mount the speaker on the ring then mount the ring onto the door. While your at it you might want to add some sound deadening to the door to reduce vibrations.

So Andrew do you think if I replace my front woofers with some Fusion 4" woofers, the sound would be better you think? Just curious, because I've got the rear speakers replaced and all hooked up to my amp.

Yeah I reckon. I have alpine type s splits in the front 6.5" your welcome to come listen to it. I still honestly believe what I had in there before (clarion 4" splits in factory housing) were better. Sadly I pit them in the recycle bin along with heaps of useable parts ppl want LOL

Ty I've bought the speaker adaptors off ebay and they required so much modification to get the speakers to fit it just wasn't worth it. Get some nice 4" speakers in the front and throw the 6.5's in the back mate. Coupled with a set of decent tweeters and wired via a crossover it will make you very happy. The reason why 4" speakers are good in the front is because you only want to reproduce vocal and music clarity for the sound stage, not bangin doof doof, that stays in the boot as bass is non-directional sound. The factory sound boxes are awesome and with the right 4" speakers they will blow away any unbaffled 6.5" rattling around in free air giving uneven sound response and lack of depth, effectivly sounding like

If you're really dead set on getting the adaptors, search on ebay.com, not ebay.com.au. Something like SC300 speaker adaptors.

So what are good 4" speakers out there these days do you think Austen? I've got Fusion Reactor's but haven't had time to put them in yet. Suggestions?

I've never heard a set of Fusion speakers so I can't comment on them but the construction looks pretty decent. I say throw them in and see what they sound like! Focal speakers are nice if you want to spend a bit. Ty, which 6.5's are you looking at getting?

i heard fusion are decent as far as speakers go, fusion are bad for amps as its american apparantly due to our heat here they fry something terrible.. speakers are good apparently though
