When I get my Soarer, I'm looking at putting 2x12" subs in the boot so the stock 10" sub on the parcel shelf would be useless for me. Just wondering if anyone has the same setup, or a setup where the stock 10" sub was not needed and have somehow modded the parcel shelf to hide the stock 10". How much would I be looking at for someone to do this for me?

You could try and track down a shelf where there was no factory sub. Base model TTs didnt come with a factory sub, and have no hole in the shelf.

That way you would still retain the factory look and fit.

Did base model TT's come with the 2x 6" speakers in the shelf?

If you have installed separate subs n the boot. Then why not just remove your parcel shelf and get a replacement piece of carpet.

Most car parts places have rolls of carpet with which you can retrim your shelf and cover up the hole - or else cut a new shelf and not have a hole.

the TT soarer's (or mine, at least) have a round metal disc covering the hole where the sub goes, if you can get your hands on one of those, and a parcel tray cover with no sub hole, it will look like it was never there.
and warren, you are right, they do have 2 6 inch speakers in the shelf, I just had to replace mine.

You can remove the sub and the sub amp, but leave the cover there, thus letting bass from the boot into the cabin area :-)
