I'd make a strong suggestion that you google fibreglassing techniques, then go find something (lots of things) to practice on before you even think about attacking your dash!

Being able to do a quality job that will last over time is unfortunately not a skill that is learned in a few hours. If you are painting the finished dash, it will need to be perfect, even if you are intending on covering it with vinyl again, it will have to be pretty spot on. Any mistakes will stick out like dogs balls.

thanks. ive got mates who do fibreglassing as a job and ive been out and brought the materials. i want to have the fiberglass curve up to the speaker pods i made, which i think will be a lot of work but worth it. there isnt much clearence between the dash and window but i still managed to fit them nicely

Protruding circular shapes like that make me feel ill.

Excellent workmanship of course, but it would be nicer if the speakers were nice rectangular/trapezium shapes flush with the dash so they look more inconspicuous.

Never the less good work!

I have to disagree, anything square wouldnt flow with the lines. I reckon its a bang up job. Although im into modifying my car so everything looks like it came from factory thats way and is nice and clean and flows if i were to mod my car for a sportier more obvious modified look i would do this exactly the same way.

thanks guys im trying to turn my car into a show car so pretty much nothing will look stook and proberly wont appeal to most ive got the rest of the interior planned out and started on most thats why dash is taking so long doing a million things at once, thanks to all those who have given good feed back to my posts i have plenty more to post up as my cars got a lot, lot more till its done. i think i posted this in the wrong spot so ill start posting the rest of what i do to the inside of my car to the interior section.
cheers

That's not like you, not to like something Mike.
My theory is if Mike doesn't like it Buy it!.

looks great for a first attempt. Have you thought about doing it in vinyl. Painted may look a bit half done, there is also a lot of different styles of vinyl available.

a few things me and a mate painted last sunday. plastic primer, normal primer, silver, airbrushing, house of colour candy blue, clear in that order. we also did a bunch of pieces in the engine bay. they look awsome in the sun but still need to rub back and buff.
