I would agree with Boris.
Your paying a minuscule amount for what is a lot of hardware.
A high end brand unit with this specification level is with a couple of grand at least, so your paying for an inferior piece of hardware built as cheaply as possible. Yes it may work but it's not going to be exceptional quality nor have 10-15 years of reliable service like quality electronics tend to (ie factory Soarer Stereos/EMV)
Personally I would avoid those kinda product completely.

they may be cheap but there not bad, i find it funny that i spent 380 on this unit, been in my car for 7 months, playing movies, music etc etc, at the same time a mate installed a $900 pioneer into his IS200 and has sent it back under warranty twice now, first time due to a faulty chip inside according to the warranty report and the 2nd time, well where yet to find out haha.
So far im happy with my cheap chinese unit haha, its served me good so far

After having a mid-range Panasonic head unit for two years now and how fantastic its been considering the price I paid for it, I think I'll put something like this...
DO NOT buy cheap chinese model headunits as they are terrible. I mean if you just want to use the stock soarer speakers and have a "fancy" headunit, then by all means get one. If you however want to install an amp and aftermarket speakers, do not go anywhere near these chinese brands as they will just dacks once higher end components are put into the picture. You will get terrible sound quality, interference, and static. You pay for what you get quality wise with headunits. Hope this helps

Given the price difference between the chinese crap and what some of the brand name gear is coming down to, is it really worth taking the risk on what is 99.9% most likely to be inferior product?

I have heard the same from two professional installers, who won't touch the white label stuff. they both said go name-brand, and said the best thing was to get a single din unless the screen was a must have, because they were more cost effective.

not really, a top of the line, name brand 2 din head unit with gps, bluetooth, dvd capability, all that jazz would cost more than what I paid for my car. remember, used cars are dirt cheap in nz, so my idea of cost effective and yours are different
Sometimes you do really get what you pay for, so beware. Otherwise brand name companies would be going broke. I bought a GPS Unit from ebay thinking it was the one, but few days into usage I was going broke replacing fuses as a result of that GPS.
