I have been looking through all of the posts on installing an amp under the parcel shelf. Went to my local Bunnings store (Northland)to try and find some brackets. Could not find anything only the brackets that you can bend that have too many holes and really couldnt hold my amp mounted to 16mm mdf.

Does anyone know what brackets or what i could use to make brackets up with?

I assume you just want two L or C shaped brackets or do you want a cradle/suround?

The first bracket seems pretty good. A cradle/surround would be a good idea like what i have seen in other posts of installs.

Why not use the factory amp location? Then its totally out of the way and you can screw it to the floor - unless you are putting in a very large amp or adding a secondary amp I guess...

I have taken out where the factory amp is and my amp is just a little bit bigger to fit into that slot. I could angle the amp and bolt the bottom to the floor that way i guess. Just trial and error i guess.

Ah, I only have a small XPlod amp which fitted neatly into the old amp location - I just made an MDF shelf for it to screw on to, and then bolted the shelf to the factory stud points. Out of sight, out of mind!

Yeah cool. I just have a jvc amp very basic for my needs as the soarer is driven too and from work. I will see about getting some C brackets and going from there. Thanks for the info Matt.
