The sub on my Celsior has disintegrated. It's a Pioneer TS-08502 8" subwoofer speaker running at 2 ohms.
I need to find a replacement. Any ideas?
Seems to be an abundance of 8" sub woofers out there, but they are either too deep to clear the petrol tank, or have the wrong impedance being 4 ohm or 8 ohm.
Anyone with any experience that can shed some light on this problem?

There are new roll surrounds available to fix these. (Jaycar etc) Finding a 2ohm replacement that will fit straight in will be next to impossible. Getting a 4/8/12 ohm that fits is easier but then you will need to replace the amp.

Rob, I purchased a Jaycar 8" subwoofer to replace my disintegrated factory subwoofer in the Celsior. Fitted easily but was 4 ohm and not the standard 2 ohm, as you have found finding a 2 ohm aftermarket speaker is impossible. It was all but useless with the factory amplifier due to the impedance mismatch and poor efficiency compared to the factory unit. I didn't want to replace the factory amplifier so I purchased a genuine Toyota subwoofer. The sound quality is excellent. Not overly cheap at A$194.00 +GST though! Part number is 86160-50010
