Hi All,
I have read that by taking out the tape deck from under the EMV the Screen will not function correctly. I want to install a CD player under the EMV
I have seen a few cars with this done. I am not particularly worried about using the TV or video functionality and only really want the climate control to still function normally. However, if it's an easy wiring job or something similar, having full functionality would be nice.
Can anyone point me in the right direction as to what needs doing in order for me to be able to do the above..??
I'm getting my new soarer this week and haven't owned one for 5 years now. This is all all new to me 'again'..!! lol..

Has the CD in the boot stopped working!
It has the stacker removed. The current owner has a DVD player in the glove box and an amp running the sub and speakers from the EMV. I don't want this, rather I want a head unit (DVD or not) mounted under the EMV, allowing me to control everything from there as I also need bluetooth for work.
I looked up an old thread where I asked a very similar question back whan I had my old soarer.. Most of my questions were answered.. The main question was that if I removed the tape deck would I need to do any wiring to retain the use of the EMV for climate control only? Or would simply removing the tape deck be ok. I know, in the my old thread, I was told that you could remove it but you could not use the video function and that the cc would be unaffected.

Thanks for your help Luke
I wonder what it is in the tape unit that enables the video input to operate..?? One would think that video functionality would literally be via a single wire.
Perhaps it's the 'switching' function which would switch between sources that would allow for this. If this was the case you would have to assume that the wire still exists but the 'switch' doesn't. I wonder if it was possible to wire in a switch to allow for this..
