it took me a year of box building and tuning to reach my score of 150.5 in a small hatch with 2 10" subs and 2x 3000wrms amps totalling over $7k for these components alone. Not to mention the 4 runs of 0ga from the battery to amps + groundings.
Was the australian record holder for my class in dbdrags (st A) for all of last year.
So seeing figures like 164db getting thrown around kinda gets up me a lil

With all that noise, can you actually here any music, or do people like blowing there brains out. I am not one of the young set, but I still like to hear good music, not heaps of Doof Doof. I am quite happy with my 7 speaker standard system thank you.

Yes from England, should I mention the Ashes? I see I've become a tinkerer.
Ian For most, it's the appreciation of the music that drives the quest for clarity. That's why we are so interested in what should be done with the Soarer front speakers.
It's not my 'thing' but the competition for the loudest sound system could be compared to the thrill of striving to complete the quarter mile in the quickest time. It's a challenge and once you are hooked.....
Murray 4 'O' gauge cables to the boot! Much respect, to continue my analogy that's like preparing for Nitrous.

Ian, That car was never designed to play music. just a single note (61hz) as loud as possible.
All they need to do is reduce the frequency to "92 cents below the lowest octave of E-Flat" (the brown noise) and they'd have everyone crapping !! Although I have seen that myth busted.
Well, I learnt something here - I didnt realise that in these "loudest car audio" tests that they used a single tone rather than "music"

Hey guys, just bought some spacers from the US on ebay, looking pretty good for fitting 6.5" speakers in them. Let you know how I go when I fit my speakers.

Anyone know how to remove top of CD stacker? Had probs and been through a lot of pain with insurance co and been back and forth from Nam's, it's cost me a bomb in money and time and still crap. I PM'd people on this forum and others who were supposed to be the guru's in stackers but go no responses. I've only been a member for a short while but been viewing and owned Soarers for many years. I have a V8 and the wife has a TT. The stacker is for the V8. I think it know what's broken and I have a spare stacker for parts but can't seem to get the top off so to play with inside mechs. cheers and thanks to those than can help.
