Hi guys.
Anyone here with a motorized LCD screen in place of the tape deck on an EMV car? Or in the same place on a non EMV car?
I'm looking at replacing the tape deck(moving it under the dash) with a motorized LCD, but I'm a bit concerned that the LCD might hit the gear lever as it is ejecting if the car is in park.

My advice is to steer clear of motorised unsupported screens....they WILL break eventually. The 2 DIN units where the screen tilts but is still supported top and bottom are much better.

i have had motorised screens for over 4 years, all been pioneer never had a problem with any at all, breaking or hitting the gear stick; so there shouldnt be any problem. With the breaking part its all about where and what brand you get, as we all know you pay for what you get, so if you gonna get for example a jaycar cheapo well of coarse you may have problems breaking and doing weard but if you get a decent pioneer or kenwood you should be pritty safe, and both of those offer extended warantees, just to be on the safe side.

Jason, I've still got the Pioneer one that came in my car when it arrived (NTSC only) with all the cables etc. If you can wait till Easter, grab it off me and try it out. If you can get it to work with PAL we can work something out if you like. It's got either a 6 or 12 disc stacker with it too. Opens fine when in park and I think it's about a 7.5 inch screen.

Speaking of Pioneer brand....They will be releasing a double din 6 disc in dash double din screen soon in Australia. Price will be around $2200AUD and will wipe the competition away...
