Non-EMV is possible.... maybe. It looks like an IP bus. EMV stacker...not a chance in hell. Not even remotely like any aftermarket stacker controller. The EMV computer does all the work, the stacker has no processing of its' own unlike any aftermarket system. This is all conducted over a proprietry serial/parallel link to the EMV.

Similar question from me I guess. My CD stacker is currently on the blink, and I was wondering if it was possible to replace it with a DVD stacker, and still retain the EMV controls.
I know of many that have "added" DVD players or stackers and kept their old CD stacker, but has anyone "replaced" the CD stacker with a DVD one?
Mark, what is the best method of adding a DVD stacker (or a HDD unit)? I am getting the TV mod with the AV inputs (I believe Niall is sending my unit to right at this moment), however these are analog channels and I was wondering what the best method of getting a digital video signal into the EMV.

Same deal. The system is so much different from a normal stacker (even the non-EMV one that looks the same) that NO aftermarket option exists. It would be possible to get a digital audio signal into the EMV system either through the stacker or tape player inputs (a LOT of design work needs to be done as the EMV computer talks to the stacker/tape/radio and won't enable the input if they are not present) but the EMV video is all analogue. So there is no way to get a digital video signal in. At this stage the only way into the EMV stereo system is through the TV input. This is the only input that remains enabled regardless of what's connected (or disconnected). This means that a DVD has to be connect via the TV or even just in place of the TV. I will eventually get around to trying a A/D converter directly from the radio TV input if I ever get time or even digital audio into there with analogue video via D/A converter. The tape input is another possibility. 'The short answer is to connect DVD to one of the new TV aux inputs.
AaaaH...now I know where that stuff I picked up today comes from

Piece of cake. Pull a couple of christmas tree clips from trim and remove trim being very careful of the release cable for the fuel cap. Then 3 x 10mm bolts and one x 10mm nut to get the brackets off. Four Philips head screws for the stacker to the brackets and two plugs (one more plug to the Sat/Nav for EMV cars). Leave the amp on the brackets and refit bracket.

There is another option coming soon. Vlad has finished his new EMV mod and I have one to try out....a soon as I can get some of these repairs done and out of the way. This mod will allow an aftermarket CD/DVD etc connected via the TV mod to be controlled by the EMV using the remote extender facility of the DVD making it much more like a factory installation. Watch this space....(but don't hold your breath while waiting).
