Hey there guys, was just wondering if anyone could share some photo's of how they installed their headunit's with the EMV unit. I know there are a few various ways of going about this and would just like to see some pictures of the results. Cheers

I actually bought the car like that. But as far as i can tell the previouse owner has just taken it out. They have ran all new speaker cables as well, so i dont think any of it was needed. The original volume control knob does nothing. Which doesnt concern me that much. The only problem that i can see with not having those buttons is that i can no longer do the DVD conversion which is a bit of a bummer.

Had an aftermarket DVD player hooked up to my CD/MP3 player's auxilary input. The custom glovebox install cost a little over $150 at the time.

From what I can see, is that now the only thing you can put in your glove box?

I thought you would have still wanted some storage space/guages or something? Looks kinda odd with just that thing there.

Yeah Shaun, I didn't really care about storage space really. I only have a few remotes and the aftermarket air suspension controller, and those are in the middle console. Can't complain really. I even had the InfraRed receiver extended so I can control the deck with the glovebox lid closed. Some people like it, some don't. Just personal opinion :-)

Daniel, just so you know, those controls werent wired up, so it was only there for looks.

Vinh's setup is pretty clean if you're not so fussy about space. I had mine rigged up in the boot. MP3 cd, so no tears there.

Bastard of a job but it can be done. The only thing that won't work is the actual tape player.

Agreed ,

These cars demand a certain class that's why I wanted to try and retain as close to factory as possible. However now days the price of DVD stackers has come down and if I was to do it all over again I would simply just install a DVD stacker in the boot.

Just wait for my new DVD install......

I've done, and so has Neil, a couple of cars in the same manner as Joe's.
The very first car to have this done was a blue supercharged V8 (not Neil's) and it was done like 4 or 5 years ago. That car also has working Sat/Nav (aftermarket but it looks factory). (incidentally, for all those who think they've picked up a bargain, that car was just sold for $16k with all the bits still attached and working).
It is fiddly and time consuming but does work well and looks the part.
