I think this has been discussed before, what I remember is that is was too difficult to put a EMV in a TT. So they put a TT is a UZZ30/31. I member not too long ago was selling a UZZ31 with a TT in it....

I have a TT with ElectroMultiVision. I've put one in an EH station wagon and now Mercedes. I can put one anywhere; cost is the limiting factor. To do it properly you need a complete wrecked EMV car.You need the complete rear wiring harness and all the modules and stereo parts. Some modification is necessary in some cars to get fuel use info for the trip meter. Expect to pay in the $2k region to get it fitted (with all bits supplied by you and delivered here). EMV screens are only available as part of a new EMV display box @ $4800+GST+duty+freight etc etc. A good used EMV display box is about $500. EMV computer and tape player $2800 and $1400 respectively or about $150 each 2nd hand. CD stacker $2800, $200 to $450 2nd hand. (different to non-EMV). TV Tuner ??? couple of hundred for a good modified one (+250 for PAL to NTSC converter). Radio tuner; ditto except $600 to $700 for a good modified one. Aircon computer; don't know $100 or so at least. Front wiring harness (for aircon plugs etc)??? At least the 4ch amp for the stereo is the same!
For non-EMV cars the 2-DIN unit from Brash's is a better buy. 7" widescreen touch screen, DVD, TV radio and reverse camera/sensors ready to plug straight in. $960.
Josh, yours was late model standard TT head unit (not really EMV).
