looking to buy mp3 or dvd, have emv, any soarers in perth have upgraded? to what and who installed? are you happy with unit and installation, any advice would be very helpfull, i cant afford to make expensive mistake!
for shure i can go buy dvd. but is there anybody in perth who can install and work it through emv?

Alberts Cannington were helpful. But I dont have EMV so wouldn't know, try DCI maybe?

A total of five wires to connect and you don't even have to cut any.
See FAQ site for details. Any half-trained moron installer could handle that much easily.

But make sure you give the "half-trained moron installer" a copy of the how-to tutorial from the FAQ section.

I actually had an installer leaning over my shoulder when I posted that...hence the less than nice description

Hi Mel,

Just print out this DVD install guide and bring the guide with you when you go to the installer.

I did the same and took the Car Audio Shop two days to installed the DVD player in my Soarer.

For the handbrake override mod, you can buy the Tv Kit or do the mod.

As some people have problem with the trip informations with the Tv kit installed.

So its up to you to get the Tv kit or just do the mod.

The DVD player can be install in the boot or in the glove box(If the DVD player you getting can fit).

Also check out Brash Imports for cheap DVD players.

thanks to all for all this info, am reading, take it you need more than just a dvd player then, (before i read up) truth is, i was hoping it was simple case of buying a dvd player that hooks up to emv, that plays cd/mp3/dvd and dvdr,, am away to do some reading!!!!!!

phoned alberts in cannington, he knew what i was talking about, quoted 1300 bucks to supply and fit dvd to run through emv!! basic dvd player, or 600 bucks to supply and fit single play cd/mp3 player? mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!

I gave Phil a hand on that one as it was the first tape deck relocation.....

But hey it all went well....

They fixed up the shocking alarm install so now you can unlock with the key...!!

Now i know how to run EMV with DVD in the tape deck spot..!!
