Hey all,

I have a UZZ31 but im not a big fan of the EMV. I was wondering if it is possible to take out the EMV and fit the standard aircon controls as per the Jzz31 and then get audio through an aftermarket stereo system?

Is it simply a case of disconnecting the EMV loom and plugging it into the Standard air con?

Would it be too costly to change?

Any advice would be appreciated. I know some may think its going backwards, but for some reason the EMV just irks me.

Cheers

Don't think it's as simple as unplugging one and plugging in the other. I think the looms differ significantly.

Check out this thread for the reverse of what you want to do:-

You can always wire in an aftermarket car stereo through the TV inputs.

You would need access to a complete wrecked car to get all the bits you would need;
dash wiring harness,
stereo wiring harness,
Entire rear wiring loom
entire stereo system including stacker, the amps can stay, they're the same.
A/C panel in good working order (good luck!!!)
Prices for new parts required from Toyota would total somewhere in the $10k region if you can't get them from a wreck.

So in short....NO.

Thanks guys. I was just wondering if it were simple, but evidently not.
