I am considering getting a Navman (GPS navigation) for my car. Where I am planning to mount the device though, will reduce (basically block) the actual signals from the satellites to the unit. To remedy this, I am thinking of getting the external GPS antenna for the unit (Navman iCN320) to pick up the signal from outside. Has anyone installed any of the Navman's with the extension aerial? Also what's the best way to route the wires through and to the front of the dash?

Mel no the sales man didn't tell me this. I am planning on installing it away from the windscreen, so hence the unit will not have a clear line of site to the sky, so won't be able to pick up the signal very well or at all. I am trying to not mount it on the windscreen as in my own opinion, I find it a little tacky.

navman is portable, hence reason i have on windscreen, as i have only been in Perth for 6 months, trust ne, navman my best friend, also, you say you want booster ariel? you could fit anywhere in car, i go under tunnels etc, even in my garage, i still get signal, so,,,,,,,,no matter where you install in the car, you will get signal, i would, as i said, use 320 model, if you get week signal, then buy booster, as i said i have never needed too, ifyou really want to spend money on extras, download speedcamera, get it on e bay, or you could download software to use as mp3 player
