Anyone measured the max depth with spacer?
i know a Pioneer Infinite Baffle Sub fits, that's 5 3/4inch.

Would a 6 1/2inch depth sub fit with spacer?

I'm running the Jaycar carbon fiber sub and it is sitting on 32mm of mdf siliconed directly onto the metal. Even then the clearance of the base of the sub to the fuel regulator is only 8mm! Hope that gives you some of an idea.

What is the mounting depth of the Jaycar Sub?
I can't seem to find the specifications on the website.

Sorry mate, I cant help you there as I've thrown the box away and the sub will take me at least an hour to remove!

Mark, you got one lying about the place you could measure? Or anyone else got one in a bit more accessible location?

Have a look at the Pioneer TS-SW series of slim subwoofers. The smallest (20cm) has a mounting depth of 75mm, ie 3 inches

Those slim subs arn't really meant for infinite baffle applications. unless you custom-make a box for it, which is hard because of space constraints. I just wanna find out if a sub with 6.5 inch depth can be mounted with spacers...

Most subs will fit with spacers, wether you can still use the stock cover or not is the question. The way I have mine set up I can't use the stock cover so I am in the process of r&d for a custom item.

i'm not using the stock cover at the moment. running the tsw pioneer sub with pioneer grill.
i'm not fussed about the grill/cover, I just need to know whether a 6.5inch mounting depth sub fits with spacers. fit as in both not hitting the rear windscreen and fuel tank.

6.5" will deffinately fit in there without hiting the rear glass or the fuel tank. Spacers may be required pending the magnet size of your sub. As for actually screwing it down, Make sure you drill your holes PRIOR to screwing/siliconing the spacers to the shelf as you wont get a drill in there with the window in the way. You'll also need some offset screwdrivers to put the screws in too.

Thanks Ben. Exactly what I needed to know. As i don't really wanna buy something and find that it doesn't fit later!

As Infinity is not carried in most car audio stores available to me, I actually have to source one from elsewhere, thus theres no way of me getting one to test-fit.

I can get infinity at the store just down the road from me, but seriously mate, the jaycar sub will toast it in an infinate baffle (free-air) setup. Especially for the HUGE price difference. I always knew their stuff was good as I have installed a few systems using their speakers, but never their subs. I can't believe how hard my system goes now, and I haven't even got around to tuning it properly!
