My emergency brake is really loose and i need to pull it up with a lot of force if i want to keep it still. anyone else have this problem? thanks.

It can be adjusted both at the wheels like any old drum brake, and the cable can be tightened at the handle end.

The hand brake shoes in THEORY should rarely, if ever need adjusting.
They only tend to wear if you're doing a LOT of hand brakies, or driving around with the hand brake on a tad (which is unlikely unless you're deaf & blind!).

However the possibility for the cable to s t r e t c h over time is very real, and this is where you pop your hand brake handle cover off, and adjust the revealed nut(s) on the end of the cable.

Or the brake shoes may have been backed off to change rotors at some point. :-)
